Creating content quickly

Unlike my niche websites, the content on this site has to be written by me.

So I’ve been experimenting with different ways of creating content quickly. So far I’ve tried to methods, the dictation service and using Dragon Express on the Mac.

To use the dictation service at first recorded what I wanted to say on my iPhone. I used the fire app to do the recording. I then uploaded the way file to castingwords.com.

This cost between one dollar and $2.50 per minute of recording. The results were really good. The accuracy of the transcription was perfect and the speedy delivery very good. They come highly recommended.

The second method was to use Dragon Express. I first used Dragon products about 20 years ago. They were expensive, took hours to train and were less than perfect.

Dragon Express, however, has been a joy to use. Its accuracy is wonderful. And after only 10 min I managed to type this article with very little correction or manual use of the keyboard.

I still have lots of commands to learn to make the process even quicker. But, I have been out talk at a reasonable speed and allow my thoughts to flow freely rather than concentrating on the dictation process.

Using Dragon Express has become my preferred way of doing this. Apart from the other method allows me to go for walk and produce some content at the same time.

I did try the Dragon app on my iPad. However this is very limited, you have to talk to the edge of your iPad. It doesn’t show you what you’re dictating as you go. It also has a limited amount of capacity and doesn’t tell you when you’ve reached that limit.

If you have any other ideas of quick ways of creating content please share your ideas in the comments below.

This is great Rob! I’ve been looking for a way to produce more content, considering that that is the ONLY way to get anywhere online anymore – keep pushing content. I remember trying dragon a while back and it wasnt perfect. Maybe I’ll give it another shot. Great post!

      Hi Trisha,

I was very pleasantly surprised by dragon. I would also recommend http://www.thecontentauthority.com for good content if you take their tier 3 level content.

      Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Rob, thanks for this really useful information. I am a regular blogger and use to produce contents using the traditional method of typing on keyboard. But I was always searching for new and innovative way of producing more contents in short span of time and your information really turns helpful for me in this context.

    Thanks again.

    Hey Rob,

Thanks for this tidbit of info. I’ve had a hard time keeping up with my own blog as my time is consumed by all my other sites.

You provide a lot of great information and I’m glad that you’re a fellow NSM member. As a stay-at-home (work-at-home) dad trying to get my business(es) online, you have a lot of useful things for me here.

All the best for 2012 and here’s to a great revenue stream! :)

Hi Andre – Thanks for the comment – I will be visiting your blog shortly. It is hard to keep up with new content. I have just over 30 niche sites on the go plus a day job and trying to create a piece of software to sell. Time is precious.

      Cheers Rob
